Mommy Krystle was induced Monday at 3:45 pm. I did it with no pain meds and a lot of help and support from my wonderful husband, Josh and a lot of prayer.

At the Hospital

Hey everyone. This is Krystle's friend Katie writing to tell you that Krystle is being induced this afternoon. Josh called around 2:00 to say that after her appointment this morning Dr. M decided to keep Krystle and induce her. Her blood pressure was still high and she had protein in her urine so they felt this was the best plan for her and baby. Krystle and Josh are both doing well. Looks like baby Williams may actually be born on his/her due date!

Praying hard!

Could you guys please pray that I go into labor this weekend? I am so uncomfortable! Also I had my dr appointment today and Dr is a slightly bit worried I think. My blood pressure is 142 over 92 and I had +1 protein in my urine. If I don't go into labor I have my next appt on Monday morning. He does not want to wait a week. I can do things around the house but I am not allowed to leave the house unless it is to the hospital. I am 1 cm dilated and he agitated my cervix to try to keep the it going. I have to go to the hospital right away if I have a pain in my upper right hand side of my stomach. Baby is still moving around a lot which is good. He thinks baby will be 7lbs 4-5 oz. We will keep you updated if I go into labor.

P.S. we stayed at our new house last night!! We are almost all moved over just have a lot of unpacking. Dr said I can keep unpacking, just take it slowly.

Busy, Busy, Busy

Josh and my life seemed to be in warp speed since he has gotten home. We have everything set for the house and just have to do closing which will happen on Friday, Aug 29th. We can’t believe that at the end of this week we will be home owners!! We will get to start moving some of our stuff on Saturday. Most of the house will have to wait for the following week since they are refinishing the wood floors. They have to wait for everything to be out before they can start. We will be able to set up our office/spare bedroom and kitchen. We have been running around and calling people to get all the last minute things and paperwork done. It is hard work buying a house. I think, although I have nothing to compare it to, that buying a for sale by owner is slightly more time consuming than using a real estate agent.

I also had my doctor appointment last week, which I forgot to talk about. All I did was the non-stress test. Baby and I passed with flying colors. Dr. Marichal was a little surprised with how many light contraction I had and how much baby was moving. I told him that I didn’t even feel any contractions. I have felt MUCH stronger ones, especially this past weekend. He asked me if I had every thing for baby. I told him I had some stuff but I am having a baby shower on September 6th. He told me as long as baby waited until this week to come he was OK with it. On Friday, I had them every 45 minutes for 6 hours and the night before they were 10 minutes apart for about an hour. On Tuesday, I have another appointment and another stress test. Dr. Marichal will be checking my cervix, too.

Josh and I got a good laugh from this story. The night my contractions were about 10 mins apart I woke up to the sound of something breaking. I figured one of the cats had knocked something over. I woke Josh up and said, “I think something just broke.” He, being half asleep and remembering the last thing that happened before we went to bed thought I meant my water broke. He quickly realized that I wasn’t talking about that when I yelled to the cats to stop playing around. He told me the next morning what he thought had happened. We both got a kick out of the story.

Here are some belly pictures.

Joshua is home! and Our cute Chang

Yea! Josh is home safe and sound. The whole group had a great time. They were able to get home on time despite Tropical Storm Fay. The only set back was their luggage was left in Seoul, Korea. How this happened when they had a 8 hour lay over I don't know. Delta did deliver the luggage this evening which was great but Jeremiah's baggage looked like it had been run over- the side supports were crushed or missing, the zipper was broken, and the biggest disappointment of all was Jeremiah's gift for his girlfriend was ruined. Half of the custom hand painted jewelry box had the paint scratched off. I think I can fix it but I am going to let him decide what to do with it. Also they brought back 2 boxes of mango jam, which is so amazing! We had when I went to Thailand last year and it was my favorite thing about breakfast. Well 4 jars were smashed and 4 more had the seal broken on them. All of us were blessed and joyed that everyone made it home safely and on time.

Funny story about our lovable Chang
I tried to get a picture of this but unfortunately Chang move when I brought out the camera. He wanted to attack the string from the camera. Jessica was watching the Olympics. She was watching the cycling. Chang love watching the animal TV shows but we now have found his new TV love. Cycling!! I think he really enjoys it. He watched it for almost 10-12 minutes. He was so into it. It was really cute. I am slightly upset I didn't get a picture of him but here is another cute picture of him sitting on my computer chair, another cute thing he does.

A note from Josh about the trip as it comes to an end

Well, we finished the VBS and it was a success. Let me tell you, teaching in English so Bobby can translate is not simple, but we made it work. Bobby told the stories in a dramatic and exciting way and I had the key points for him to translate for the kids. Most importantly, it was interesting and applicable to the kids' lives. I was thrilled to spend so much time with the kids and see the relationships between the children and our team grow. This trip has been a huge blessing to me and a sharp reminder that this particular field is where my family is being led. I am convinced that I must prioritize this work so that what I need to do here can be our focus. Krystle (who of course is the one maintaining this blog) has been the keystone of the foundation for my encouragement. Taylor, Linda, and all those who sent us have been the rest. We thank God for your encouragement in this time. Krystle feels as I do and is working diligently to ensure that this mission field is one of our family's priorities. Between being less than one month from Krystle's due date, purchasing (hopefully) our first home, trying to be a part of the youth-group leadership, starting a small business, and preparing to lead our first short-term mission trip, our life has been incredibly busy. Of course, Krystle has been the seam to keep everything together and has kept things afloat in the States while we have been on this trip. When I return, expect me to be fervently raising support so that we can continue this work at the same pace. Monthly support is key to being able to continue work without major delays and interruption. I am certain that if I can raise a portion of the monthly funds needed for our support, I can continue and greatly expand what Krystle and I are working on for this Thailand ministry. I look forward to coming home and giving my report. Thank you for your love and prayers.

Lots of updates

Great Friends

I am very blessed to have such wonderful friends and family. I realized this week how loved I am. I really thank everyone who has made an effort to help with Josh leaving. It means the world to me.

Mike and Vernine are such great friends. Wednesday night they made dinner for us so that we won’t have to worry about dinner the night before Josh left. With as busy and stressed as Josh and I were that night it was great to relax and spend some time with friends. Vernine also is making me dinner tonight, bring it over and then are some girl time. It works out nice for both of us. I get food and company and she gets a night with only a grown-up.

Chris invited me over to her sister’s house. Her sister is out of town and Chris is petsitting her 3 dogs. Bourbon loves Carrie’s (Chris’ sister) dogs. So Saturday Bourbon and I loaded up and went over to see Chris. Chris and I spent the day in the pool talking and exercising. It felt great! Bourbon spent the day romping around Carrie’s 5 acres of land with the other dogs.

Regina, a friend of mine from Westwood, and I went out to dinner. She treated me. I was great to not have to stand up and prepare a meal plus she is great company. I hadn’t gotten to see her in a while so we spend several hours catching up on the summer events of our lives.

Even though Mom and Dad aren’t here to help, they did what they could. They bought me a steak dinner so I would have one less dinner to worry about. I love steak and I certainly wouldn’t have made it while Josh is gone. It was so yummy and I even had enough for lunch the next day.

Jessica made dinner for me on Friday night and made sure to make leftovers so while she was gone for the weekend I would have one less meal to make.

House

House inspection was last week after Josh left. Everything went very well. There were only a few things. We also signed the contract. Now we only have to wait on getting a termite inspection which is today and the mortgage company. They have to get the house appraised and do the final paperwork with the house and loan.

Mission trip update

Well so far so good. Everyone is having a wonderful time in Thailand. They are keeping busy. Linda wanted to give the children an American treat so the team is making almost 300 oatmeal raisin cookies so each child can have two yummy sugary American treats. I am sure the kids will love it. If you haven’t already, check out the North Burma Christian Mission blog for more on the trip and some awesome pictures.

Baby Williams

I had my 35 week check up today. Now I will have appointments every week. I also have to sit in the office for a half hour every week so they can monitor the baby’s heartbeat. Dr. Marichal is fairly certain the non-stress test will not show anything but because of my abnormal umbilical cord it is just a preventative measure. If anything shows up that is unusual I will have another sonogram so they can take a look. It is always nice to hear from the doctor that he has nothing to give me a hard time about. Dr. Marichal likes to joke around and give his patients a hard time. He told me today I was doing to well with my weight and everything else that he is disappointed he can’t give me a hard time. Today, baby was lying sideways which is quite uncomfortable. I am hoping he/she turns when its time and doesn’t cause any difficulties. I had Jessica take pictures of the belly. So here are pictures of the baby belly. It is getting so close! I really don’t think there is much more room for baby in there.

Another good bye

Josh, Linda, Taylor, Jeremiah, and Jamiie left this morning. Pat (Linda’s husband), Brad (my father-in-law) and I went to the airport to see them off. They made it through security without any issues. By the time anyone reads this they should be on there way to Atlanta or Seoul, Korea. I will keep posting updates as I hear them on our North Burma blog, so don’t forget to check that out and see how they are doing.

Sad good bye, last yard sale, and more

Well, Jimmy, Katie, and Isaac, dear friends of ours have left Gainesville and on their Charlotte, North Carolina. Jimmy got offered a job that should be very beneficial to him and his family. Although we are sad to see them leave we wish them the best and they are in our prayers. Josh helped them pack up the moving truck along with other friends. The girls and babies went over to Jen’s house and talked. After the packing was done, last tearful good-byes were said and we sent them off with our prayers. We will really miss them!

On Saturday, we had the last fund raiser for the Thailand mission trip. Lots of people from church donated items to sell. It was a big success! We made about $500 for the trip. With the money from this yard sale and other fundraising, the trip for Josh, Linda, Taylor, Jeremiah, and Jamiie have been paid for. They even raised a little extra money to help put a new roof up on one of the buildings at the hostel. We really appreciate all the help, prayers and support from everyone. Keep the team in your prayers as the head off this Thursday, Aug 7th from Gainesville at 7:15am.

After the hard work of the yard sale, Josh and I spent a relaxing evening with friends. A good friend of mine from Westwood Middle school, Amanda, and her new fiancé, Eric, went out to dinner and then hung out at our house for a few hours. We had a yummy dinner at Steak and Pasta Works. Afterwards, we hung out at our house and mostly talked about our kids, the kitties and dog. Amanda and Eric are big animal people too. It’s amazing how entertained we can be talking about our animals. It was really great to spend some relaxing time with such a great couple.

Josh leaves this Thursday to lead his first mission trip. (PS> Don’t forget to check out and add our new blog for North Burma Christian Mission at http://northburmachristian.blogspot.com/) He is taking four others to Chiang Mai and Mae Tang, Thailand. They will be teaching VBS to the children at the Mae Tang youth hostel. It will be the first mission trip for Taylor, Jeremiah, and Jamiie. Everyone is very excited. They will be gone from Aug 7th to Aug 19th. I really wish I was going with them. I am staying home and taking care of everything with the house and mission plus our little baby on the way.

By the time Josh returns, the count-down will really start for baby Kylah or Landon to arrive. We are so excited to be parents and meet our little one. I am even excited about being in labor. I know it won’t be easy but the bonding that Josh and I will have during it is something to look forward too. I know Josh will be a great coach for me. Both of us have been practicing for the big day. We have the bags pack and a schedule for what we are going to do during the early stages of labor. My body is certainly getting ready for the day because my Braxton-Hicks are getting more intense and more frequent. We are praying that everything goes smoothly and I don’t go into labor while Josh is gone.

As I have been asking, please keep me and Josh in your prayers. A lot is going on in our lives, big changes (the mission trip, continuing work with the mission, Josh’s business, the baby, buying a new house, and the normal everyday things). It is easy to get side tracked on what is really important.
