Potty Training

Landon has been very interested in the bathroom. He also hates getting his diaper changed. I decided why not try potty training. I have taken it very slow since I know he is still young. I set up a reward system with stickers. I made him a chart with different things he needs to do if he is going to start using the bathroom. He gets to put the sticker on the task completed for that day. He loves it. If he pees or poops in the toilet he also gets sticker on his hand. By week three I think he has really gotten the idea of going in the bathroom.

Week 3 chart and Landon with his "smile" face (He has a much sweeter smile but this is the cuteness you get if you ask him to smile)

Josh and I were very proud to announce that we were late to small group Bible study during week 3 because Landon told us he had to go on the drive over to Vernine's. We stopped at a gas station and Josh took him, and he peed! We are now in week 4. We started wearing big boy undies and training pants this week.

"I'm strong, Dad!"

Now we are working on telling Mom or Dad without one of having to ask every 10 minutes. He is starting to get that idea. He has some great days and some not so great days. He has gone several different days without having an accident. Play time with friends is still his very week point. He also just started getting the idea of pooping in the toilet.

January

Here is a quick recap of our January. It seemed like it flew I think because we spent almost the first have in Missouri.

Yard Work

Landon and I have been working at maing a new pathway from the driveway to the front door. It still needs a lot of work, which is being put on hold until we have some money to buy flag stone. The brink were dug up from around a couple of places in the yard we didn't want them. At least now we won't just be killing the grass in random paths. Landon was a great helper, moving the rocks and dirt and trying to carry the brinks to me.

Work in progress

Checking out the neighborhood (mostly the dogs)

The finished project...for now

Landon playing with his rocks

Learning kindness

Landon has started to have to account for his actions although is normally super sweet to the animals, sometimes he gets too hyper and is too rough. He is always quick to say sorry though.
"Sorry, Chang"

BIG NEWS!!

No more crib for this little guy it is big boy bed!

Playing on his new bed. Well, my old bed from college, which is just the mattress on the floor right now.

He really loves having his new bed. He asks to take naps and cuddle time now.

Celebrating Grandma's birthday in Tallahassee

We meet up with Grandma and Grandpa Gorman at Uncle Adam's place to celebrate the day with Grandma on her birthday. We went out to lunch at a pretty cool resurant, forgot to take a picture though :( Sally came along for the drive and for lunch. Thanks Sally for being our company for the ride! Then we meet up with Jeremiah and Carter so we could switch cars, it was sad... I LOVE LOVE having the big van. So anyone in a giving mood is welcome to get me one, ;).
After lunch, Sally and the boys went off to visit and we went to the mall for some birthday ice cream and window shopping.
Later, I picked up Sally and we headed home. I think everyone had a great time.

Landon spotted the water pool and was very excited about it.

So Grandpa took him to see it.

Baby Shower

I hosted a baby shower for Adrienne and her little girl on the way. (I think she might have Natalie today!). It was a full house but I think everyone had a lot of fun.

The yummy yummy food!

I am so excited I caught this on camera!

Landon's first kiss, I guess the girl thought Landon was a cutie because she did this first kiss with out being asked!

The boys really wanted Taylor to read to them.

Time for presents!

Missouri Christmas Vacation continued

The two days after Christmas, we headed out for Missouri. We did our 10 hours or so traveling the first day to Paducah, TN. Landon did awesome! We were a little worried how he would do this year since he was old enough to realize that he would be in the car all day. We keep him entertained, with books, music, toys and a lot of bubble blowing.

Uh, Mom are you sure this car ride is going to be "fun?"

Naps with family

Much to my pleasure we arrived in Kansas City, Missouri there was a nice thick layer of snow on the ground. It snowed several days while we were there. A blizzard actually kept us from leaving on the way home and we stayed an extra day so the road could clear.

Grandma Williams was in the rehab center for most of the time we visited. She fell a few days before Thanksgiving. Thankfully she was able to come home two days before we left and we were also able to help with making some adjustments to the house so that it would be easier for Grandma to get around on her wheelchair and hopefully soon her walker.

A warm welcome from the Stratton and Boyce family at Grandma Williams.

More Presents!!!

The bad part about the snow, getting stuck. Thankfully for Aunt Christy there was a house full of strong boys to push!

We went and visited Grandpa and Grandma Monk’s farm. Since we were out in the country Josh brought our gun and we were all able to get a couple of rounds off for the first time. Thanks again to everyone who chipped in for our “home security system.” The Strattons and Christopher were able to come out too and we all had a nice big dinner.

Mom even came out and tried a couple of rounds

After visiting Jessica church we were able to have a big family dinner out. I meet Josh's Great great aunt (I think that is how is was related) plus Uncle Kim and Elaine and Uncle Mark joined us too

We were there for the Stratton’s yearly New Years day party. The food is always great but Aunt Christy topped it this year. The shrimp and crab legs plus all the other yummy food was just perfect!

Happy Birthday Joshua!

Landon got a New Years Day ride with Grandma and a cool balloon from one of the nurses!

Josh and I were able to go out on a date for Josh’s birthday. It was really nice to have dinner together, just the two of us.

Landon and I enjoyed the snow the most, and we don’t mind the cold (especially me when it is companied by the snow). A few of us went out and played for a while in the snow one of the last days we were there.

We had a great time and hope that we can make it out again there soon. We love our Missouri family, and especially miss the newest member out there Jessica.
