Strawberry picking and Easter (Our LORD Has risen!)

Some of the moms and our kids got together to go strawberry picking. It was fun and what we thought was going to be a very soggy trip ended up by being super sunny. There is a local farm that has “pick your own” strawberries for sale for $1 a pound. It is really nice place to get them. The strawberry beds are on large mounds that are covered by a tarp so you don’t have to lean down as far and get as dirty. By the way if you are looking for a great thigh work out I have one for you pick strawberries with a baby on you!

Landon helped put the strawberries in the bucket

We worked in a couple of fundraiser into Easter weekend so we could go home and visit with family. It made the weekend go by faster but at least we got time to spend with our families.
Josh had to work Friday so we got in late. We spent a little time with Josh’s family before everyone past out. Saturday morning we spend with my parents. We went out to eat at Harry T’s (one of my fav places) and then went shopping. Landon had a lot of fun showing off all his new skills to Grandpa and Grandpa. At lunch we found out Landon’s new favorite food, cucumbers! He loves sucking out all the soft insides. I think he eat 5-6 huge slices. The best part about Harry’s is that it is on the water. It was a beautiful day out so we sat outside and watched the boats go by. Afterward they were having a Easter weekend celebration on the boardwalk so Landon checked out the crayfish and made a pinwheel. After lunch and a short walk on the boardwalk we went shopping.

Landon's favorite food cucumbers!

He also loves drinking water espesically from a cup!

Landon loved watching the birds and boat go by with Grandma

Shopping was followed by a trip up to Crestview for a Pampered Chef Thailand Mission Trip fundraiser. Our friends, the Johnson’s hosted the show. Both of their children are going with us to Thailand in July. The show was a lot of fun. We made a yummy dessert and enjoyed time with friends.
Sunday was Easter. What a wonderful celebration!
He is not here. He has been raised, just as he said. Come and see the place where he was lying. Matt. 28:6
Our family celebrated by enjoying a wonderful play put on by the high school students at Niceville Christian Church. They always do a great job, that church is blessed to have so many great actors and actresses! After the play, our Pastor Dan put together a wonderful sermon.

Landon LOVED watching the play!

For lunch, the Williams had my parents and the Daviss over. We also made a Pampered Chef dessert for everyone so that they could try out the tools. Landon had lots of time to play with all of his grandparents and aunts and uncle. We missed Uncle Adam and Jon though.
It was a really busy weekend but I am glad we were able to go home and spend time with family.

Aunts, Barbershop singing, swimming, and more

Landon has gotten a good dose of his family this month. Jamiie Jo came down for 2 weeks visiting, Jessica had a lot of free time, Landon and I went to Jacksonville for the weekend to see Grandpa sing. Josh and Jessica had to stay home and work during the Jacksonville weekend trip.

We missed them a lot. Landon LOVED listening to the singing. He even tried singing along with them. Landon got lots and lots of love from his family and all the people at the competition. I think he might have been as big of a hit as the singers! Josh and Jessica had to stay home and work. There were some really amazing singers.

During the singing breaks we went out and enjoyed some family time, eating and swimming. This was Landon’s first time swimming, since when I took him to Rum Island it was too cold for him. He was really nervous in the beginning and held on to me really tight but didn’t cry. After about 10 minutes of walking around in the water and watching his aunt and uncle, and Carter have fun in the water he toughened up. At the end I was just holding on to his hands and he was kicking and floating around. He preferred to be belly down but we did do some floating on the back. I think he will be a little “fish” like his Mom and Uncle Adam. I can’t wait to have more pool/swimming time with him this summer!

The overall winners! These guys were probably not much older or younger than me. They have only been singing Barbershop for 5 months!!

Landon and I made our first long trip by ourselves on the way home. This was the only time he was awake, he slept soundly the rest of the way. Thank you for the prayers of my Mom and young ladies Bible study for an easy ride home!

On Tuesday after the weekend we went to Landon’s playgroup. He loves being around other children. I noticed him pulling him self with his arms. As you might have seen in the video he has started the army crawl. I was so excited. He just needed some good motivation. All the kids in his playgroup are a month or two older so they can move all around. He decided he was going to join them. I guess I have to prepare the house for a crawler now!
