A quick visit

Just wanted to share our wonderful visit from our college roommates.  Ashley and Grant Hurst were Josh and my roommates in college before we all got married.  Josh and Grant have been friends since Josh was about 10 years old.  Ashley, Grant and I have been friends since my first year in college.  They are actually the reason Josh and I met.  So not only are they great friends they have a special place in our hearts. 

Now we are all "grown up" and are married and have children.  It was really awesome to catch up with them.  I have seen Ashley a couple of times when I have gone back home to visit my parents because her parents don't live far.  Ashley, Grant and their little boy Ryan are currently living in New York.  They had some event to go to Friday night near by so they were going to stop in for the day and ended up staying the weekend.  Ryan stayed at with his grandparents in Niceville so Landon didn't get to play with him but we all still had fun. 

Here is the only picture we took the whole weekend, I completely forgot until they were walking out the door to leave.  Oh well, maybe next time!

Meet Baby Williams

I had my ultrasound October 5th.  Josh and I were both very exciting about getting a glimpse of what our second little baby.
It was really neat to see how different and simliar our children our and this one is not even born.  I remember Landon's ultrasound so clearly.  He was a little bit of a show off.  He already was photogenic, looking at the "camera" so much it almost seemed as if he was posing.  This little one was very shy.  Every time we tried to look at his/her face it would put its hands/arm in the way.  It also was very stubborn and would not move in certain positions so that the ultra sounds tech could measure body parts and take pictures. One difference that is a blessing is that this baby has a normal umbilical cord.  Landon had a single artery umbilical cord and he and I were labeled as a "risk" pregnancy.  Not anything to serious with him since blood flow and all body parts and organs looked normal but a concern.  I had to have a stress test every week starting my 30th week just to make sure Landon was healthy. 
My two children are alike in they both seem to love to cross their legs when they sleep at the ankles.  I think that is the coolest thing.  Also both are exactly on for all the measurements that the doctor takes.  It will be interesting to see once Baby Williams #2 is born how similar and different they are.

21 weeks pregnant

For those of you who are wondering, Josh and I decided again NOT to find out the sex of our baby.  It was so much fun with Landon.  We are a little old fashion too when it comes to do with a lot of family things so I guess we are just keeping up with that.  Plus after all that work in labor I like to have a surprise!  We do have names picked out for a girl and boy but this time we are just going to let you know what his or her name is when we he or she is born.  We have had names picked out for 2 girls and 2 boys since shortly after getting married and we hope to one day have 4 children, ideally 2 boys and 2 girls.  We would be happy with whatever God gives us.  Children are a blessing and that is all that matters to either of us.  We are and always have thought of adopting so MAYBE that will be our next adventure in parenting!

A few cute words from Landon

I thought I would record a couple of things Landon has been saying but I haven't done that well.  Here are the two things I remember to type up.

Landon picked up his Superman figure toy and said "Soup Guy!"


11-18
Landon and I were playing.  Landon brought his little stuffed hippo, "Bobby," to me.  We have been putting "diapers" on his smaller stuffed animals.  I think he enjoys it because he know babies wear diapers and he is very excited about our baby coming soon.  It also helps with getting him to put on his diaper at naps and bedtime.  Anyway... He took the diaper off of Bobby and I asked him if it was a dry diaper.  He has been receiving a reward if he wakes up with a dry diaper.  He told me yes so I told the hippo, "high five."  Landon looked at me somewhat frustrated or upset and shook his head "no."  He said , "Bobby hippo no hands" and tossed the hippo on the couch.  I started cracking up laughing.  After walking away for a minute he ran back over to the hippo and picked it up.  He had a big smile on his face.  He brought it to me and said "high foot" and held up Bobby's foot.

Landon impresses me almost everyday with what he is learning and what he has learned that I or Josh haven't necessarily taught him.  He is like a little sponge.  Today at dinner time was one of those times.

We had a family dinner movie night.  Every once in a while we watch a family movie while we eat dinner and then all snuggle up afterward and finish before we head Landon off to bed.  We all love these nights.  Josh had made homemade soup.  It was yummy.  Landon eats a lot but he doesn't always finish his dinner. Tonight he did and that is one thing we were proud of because it was with no prompting from Mom or Dad.  Then he asked to get done from his chair (We bring his chair into the living room because 2 years olds aren't the best at eat on the couch as I am sure any of you with children would know).  When he got down he picked up his bowl and spoon and disappeared.  A second later I heard his bowl fall into the sink and Landon say "put away all finished."  He then crawled up next to us on the couch and cuddled.  Although he does put his dishes away it normally is because we ask and it is not a rule that he puts them away.  Josh and I were just so proud that he did this on his own.

He is such a great helper, in general.  He know to put his shoes away (he even puts Daddy's away when he forgets), he feeds the cats and dogs, he helps me carry the laundry to the laundry room, he helps put away the clean dishes (the silverware and cooking utensils that aren't sharp), and is always asking to help with everything.  His favorite thing to help with his cooking, he loves measuring, stirring and  anything else we can let him help with. 

 It is hard to believe that my little 6lbs 11 oz baby is now just a little over 2 years old and is growing up so fast.

"I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend" (well blessed is really the right word!)

I knew when I met Josh that he was pretty special.  I think I was taken with him the first day we meet.  He has always impressed me with how much he cares about others.  He is an amazing husband and father and Landon and I are so blessed by having him in our lives.  He isn't a perfect  guy but he makes me feel like I am a queen.  He does so much for me.  I sometimes take him for granted.  Recently Josh did two things that were just a small reminder of how great he is, at least I think so.  So I wanted to brag on my husband (I think husbands need to be bragged on my their wives) and also write down so it can be remembered what he did.  

A week or so ago...


Josh tries to take Landon with him to work when he cleans the church.  Landon often plays with Ben (his mommy works at church and they are only 2 months apart) and then I get a few hours to myself.  I needed to clean the house recently when he took him.  When Josh came home, I was almost done.  Josh helps with the cleaning and he does a great job and I appreciate all the help but I am pretty particular to how I like things clean.  With the birth of Landon I have come to relize that help, even if it is not up to my standards is better than me wearing my self out or the house staying dirty.  Josh knows that even though I appreciate his help he just doesn't do it how I do.  That night before bed, he told me he want me to "train him" on cleaning the house.  He said he know I like the house clean and with a toddler and a new baby there will be a few weeks that cleaning is just not really on the list of things to do or at least not high up there.  He knows I start to go a little "crazy" when the house isn't clean and he wanted to try his best to help the house stay the way "I" like it.  
I know it might not be much but I think that for someone to really doesn't enjoy cleaning to realize that someone else "needs" the house to be clean a certain way is pretty great.  And to try to make an effort to live up to my standards is even cooler. So you may thin I just rambled on for a while but I just am so impressed with my thoughtful husband I had to share.  


Then this week...

Landon and I spent the week at my parents.  It turned out to be the perfect time because Josh just got a job at UF and they change him from part time to full time in a day.  Plus Landon and I both were under the weather so it was nice to have my parents to take care of us.  We left early enough so that we could make it home for dinner with Josh.


Josh even though he had work an 8+ hour day had a homemade mini Thanksgiving dinner.  He bought a huge turkey- I LOVE turkey so we have lots of left overs and I am super excited!!!!  He made green bean casserole, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy and rolls.  
Josh is a awesome cook in my opinion and he cooks most of the time but it was a nice treat to have after 4.5 hours of driving.  Plus this year we will be in CT for Jon's wedding so it was nice to have "our" turkey dinner.




I know it isn't luck that I have a husband like Josh.  My Lord created us just for each other and Josh was made perfect for me.  After 6 years of marriage sometimes I forget all of the wonderful things about him that made me fall in love but in general I know I am pretty blessed.  This song always reminds me of Josh and in my head I just change the words "lucky" to "blessed."  Thank you Josh for being the best husband for me and the best daddy to our children!
